The front block of the museum building dates back to 1887. It features an elegant neo-Palladian design, a European style of architecture characterised by a highly symmetrical façade and the use of pediments above windows.
General School Booking FAQs
Yes, appointments are necessary for all group visits, even if the visit is teacher-facilitated. This is to inform us of your arrival in advance so that NMS staff can help to:
Manage the overall number of visitors we can expect for the day to ensure that you have a meaningful experience with us; and
For booking of teacher-facilitated free-and-easy school visits or school programmes, please complete this form and email us at firstname.lastname@example.org. Our Education officer will contact you within 3-5 working days. Please note that an email is mandatory, and bookings cannot be made or accepted via the telephone.
To book a programme, please complete the booking form AND email or post it to us. Bookings received via email or post will be dated and processed in order of receipt. Please note that bookings cannot be made or accepted via the telephone.
Schools with confirmed bookings will receive a confirmation letter from us, with information about your programme. If you do not receive a confirmation letter within 2 weeks of booking, please contact us immediately. The confirmation letter must be submitted beforehand or brought along for the programme. In the event that the number of students and accompanying adults exceeds the maximum capacity indicated on the confirmation letter without prior notification, a surcharge will be levied.

The museum will send your school an invoice upon completion of the programme you have signed up for. Payment can only be made through e-invoicing and cheques.
Cheques should be made payable to "National Heritage Board".
Please note that no receipt will be issued.
