by Singapore Lyric Opera Held in Conjunction with Christian Lacroix, the costumier

Sounding the high note for Christian Lacroix the costumier exhibition will be performances by Shane Thio, Cherylene Liew, Anna Koor and William Lim from the Singapore Lyric Opera. Performing within the exhibition gallery and amidst the costumes designed by Christian Lacroix, the quartet will bring to you a repertoire of famous arias and songs from Carmen, Cosi fan tutte, Othello and other well known works. This show will enlighten, and heighten, your senses to the glory of opera.

Singapore Lyric Opera (SLO), founded in 1991, is the only arts group in Singapore promoting and presenting western opera. Recognised as one of the major arts institutions providing quality works, the SLO is awarded Major Grant status by the National Arts Council. Since its inaugural performance of Mozart's The Magic Flute in 1991, the SLO has been active in presenting regular seasons of operas, concerts and musical events. Notable performances include Puccini's Madama Butterfly in the 1994 Singapore Festival of Arts and the world premiere of Singaporean composer Leong Yoon Pin's SLO-commissioned opera Bunga Mawar in 1997. In recent years, SLO's productions like Madama Butterfly (2005), Le Nozze di Figaro (2006), Il Barbiere di Siviglia (2007) and La Traviata (2008) have been critically acclaimed with numerous accolades and winning new audiences.
