Internationally-acclaimed contemporary dancer and choreographer, Ziya Azazi, will entrance the audience with his artistic interpretations of the traditional dance of the Sufis (dervish whirlers) in this dynamic solo performance. Physicality meets mysticism, east meets west, the past connects to the present. From a measured meditative beginning, the performance escalates into a spectacular whirling dervish and eventually reaches a state of purity and ecstatic beauty.  Ziya has performed at acclaimed festivals in Hamburg, Denmark, England, Germany, Italy, among others.
