Spice Themed Programmes

William Farquhar’s legacy of natural history illustrations are the inspiration for these integrated programmes, which are planned around the theme of herbs and spices as featured in this former British Resident’s drawings.

Take part in a range of activities that will transport you beyond the physical spaces of the Exhibition Galleries. The specially designed programmes will have you engaging more deeply with the drawings on show by tapping on your five senses of smell, taste, sight, sound and touch.

Get Involved!
Step into a wonderland of trees and birds and create your very own birdcages complete with birds from the region at the interactive space, themed Enchanted Forest. Located within the exhibition of Empire of Nature, The William Farquhar Collection of Natural History Drawings donated by GK Goh, this space is designed and drawn by Singaporean artist, Sandra Lee. Or you can choose to join the exhibition’s guided tour to gain further insights to the pictures on display.
